This May Starkweather Arts Center will pay homage to a bit of its history and also celebrate Lewis Carroll’s timeless “Alice in Wonderland”. Before Starkweather became an art center, even before it was Helen Starkweather’s residence, it was a millinery. Helen’s family made and sold hats out of this beautiful storefront on Main Street and over the years, through many renovations, evidence of their workspace still remain in our gallery. Mad Hatter’s Tea Party isa juried exhibit that will explore the themes and characters in Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland”. We are accepting all media, both 2D and 3D work. Artwork will be juried either via email or, for local work, upon the drop off date.

Important Dates:

April 28th - Art Drop-off
May 4th - Opening Reception 7-9pm
May 26th - Last day of the show

The gallery opening of Lovesick at LIFT Detroit was awesome. Cody, Heather, and Josh have some serious talent. It’s up until the beginning of March if you want to go in and check out or purchase some of their work.
