The Opening of LoveSick
A huge thank you to everyone that made it out to the opening! It was more fun that I could have hoped for. Here are a few photos from the night so you can get an idea of what it was like. You can still catch the show in person until March 4th at LIFT.

LOVESICK ARTIST PROFILE: JOSH BUCKENBERGER

Josh Buckenberger is a Detroit artist with a dream, a mustache and a drawing implement in his hand. He studied Illustration at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit and has since put his talents to use in a diverse range of fields from web design to parade float construction to art restoration. He has shown at C Pop Gallery, Northville Art House, Russell Industrial and other area galleries.

Some neat-o stuff about this opening:

• It is LIFT’s first show of the 2012 season, with plenty more amazingness to come!
• At least TWENTY brand-spankin’ new pieces have been made especially for this show.
• LOVESICK will also feature the unveiling of several Limited Edition Print Runs of work in the show.
• It is an opening! Do you know what there is at openings? Besides the art, artists, and neat-o art lovers. Come on. Guess. Free food and booze!

Speaking of painting & maximus erections…I’ve been doing just that like crazy the last few months in anticipation of “LoveSick”, a three-person show consisting of the talented Heather Hansma, Josh Buckenberger & myself.

Opening reception will be NEXT Saturday, Feb. 4th, 7-10pm, at LIFT Gallery in Detroit.  I’ve completed eight new pieces for the show that I can’t wait to share with you, so if you’re in the area come say “hi” to my paintings….they may just high five you back & force you to take them home with you.  All paintings will be up online for purchase that Saturday night for those that can’t make it, so check back as I’ll be posting all information &; paintings right here.  Here’s my sneak peek, promotional piece that I’ll have prints of at ARTSLAM! this Saturday & available at my store soon!:

Hot from their recent Huck Gee signing event, LIFT Detroit is gearing up for a big show! Oh, and about that Huck Gee signing - they have a few “The Art of Huck Gee” books available. Exciting news, folks! I’ve been hunkered down working on pieces for a new show that opens in a month at Lift with the mega-talented Cody Schibi (who is artist behind this piece) and Josh Buckenberger. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, LoveSick will feature brand-spankin’-new art from all three of us. I am so ridiculously excited for this show.
