The Revolutionary Times - No. 122 “The God Abides”
Hearts have been heavy. Tempers have been risen. And faiths have been broken. But, The God abides. I don’t know about you but I take comfort in that. It’s good knowin’ he’s out there.

I need some help spreading the word about the Chester 5000 book!If you’d like to help you could also win a copy of the book! Just reblog this post and leave a reply with your email address so I can contact you. On September 28th I’ll randomly choose a winner!
What you get:-A brand new signed copy of Chester 5000 XYV with your choice of character sketched inside-A Chester paper doll-A signed print
You can also read all of Chester 5000 XYV online (NSFW, 18+) The only difference between the online version and the book is that the art in the book has been re-scanned at a higher resolution and re-cleaned. Some of the art has been redone for the sake of consistency and I can assure that it’s a very handsome volume. Thanks, I love you! :D

Chester 5000 is one of my favorite webcomics. Normally I don’t do reblogging contests, but goddamn I love Jess Fink’s work so much that I’ll do it for her.

‘Reed Gunther’ Literally Defines All-Ages Comics in Clever Press Release
Perhaps taking a cue from our own Laura Hudson, who frequently gives creators advice on how to get press attention when she speaks on the Indie Comics Marketing Panel at conventions around the U.S., the creators of acclaimed Image Comics series Reed Gunther have made themselves heard by creating aninnovative press release that is too clever to be ignored. Brothers Shane and Chris Houghton make an unassailable appeal to readers and retailers to consider all-ages comics in their proper context — comics made for all ages, not just children.
Created by brothers Shane Houghton and Chris Houghton, Reed Gunther depicts the exploits of the lovably inept cowboy adventurer Reed Gunther and his curiously bright and typically frustrated grizzly bear, Sterling. The series is absolutely kid-friendly, but, as the label implies, suitable for all-ages. The story depicted in the cool comic-as-press-release suggests that some retailers and readers have confused “all-ages” for “kiddie stuff,” and Reed himself offers some helpful suggestions on how to correct the situation.Reed Gunther is a favorite of many comics creators, including Usagi Yojimbo’s Stan Sakai, outgoing B.P.R.D. artist Guy Davis and Fraggle Rock and Our Love is Real writer Sam Humphries. Three issues are on sale now from Image, and you can check out a preview right here.

We’re getting some phenomenal love for our REED GUNTHER press release comic! Thanks everyone!

I said this on Twitter, and I’ll say it again: all press releases should look this way. Oh, and if you haven’t read Reed Gunther yet, what are you waiting for? Hop to it!
