This little dude really needs a home.
My friend initially asked me to babysit the puppy while he tried to convince his parents to let him keep him, but they said no. He was going to take the dog to a shelter, but after calling around to various shelters I was told the same thing over and over: pit bulls are social outcasts who rarely get adopted, so they would most likely put him down within a couple of days.
Which is, of course, bullshit. Monsters are created, not born. With basic human love and compassion, I’m confident that he will grow up to be a lovely dog.
Now I’m stuck with this sweet little guy, but I cannot afford another dog. If I had the space and funds to support another dog then I would not hesitate to keep him, but I’m a full time student with two jobs and my pets are already plenty to take care of.
I’m guessing he’s around 10 weeks old. He weighs 12 pounds, and he’s very friendly. He gets along well with my other dogs. He’s hyper and loves to run around my backyard. He’s fond of tennis balls, soft blankets, and sleeping.
I’ve begun the process of potty training him, and he seems to be catching on.
I live in Covina, California, which is roughly 10 miles outside of Los Angeles. I would be willing to drive him to you if you live within a reasonable distance.
Please reblog this.
Jen is a friend of mine, and she is a freaking saint with animals. If you are anywhere near Covina, CA, and are looking to either adopt or foster a puppy, please contact her. It is ridiculous that this lil’ guy should have to die due to a flawed public perspective of his breed.
